Our Letter of Welcome

Welcome to the beginning of the rest of your life. Hot Mama’s Body Smarts program will not only jumpstart your weight loss, it will change the way you think about food. In 12 short weeks, we will equip you with the tools you need to know what to eat, when to eat it, and why. I'm excited to be on this journey with you.

Why Body Smarts?

As a veteran of the fitness industry (nearly two decades in the business), I have seen all of the fads deceiving people with false promises. Be it miracle diet plans, pills, shakes, or exercise trends—the industry is inundated with gimmicks that don’t actually equip people with the tools they need. I wanted to change that. That’s why I created Body Smarts—to teach people the truth about fitness and proper nutrition. I believe that is the real solution. That is the real way to build a solid fitness foundation to last you a lifetime.

Don`t panic! This program is not about achieving perfection – it’s about teaching you skills you need to live a balanced lifestyle. This means building a solid foundation of nutritious foods, but leaving room for treats and indulgences here and there. There are no expectations for you to live your life without cake, cookies and wine coolers forever! Though the early weeks of the program will challenge you to live without certain things for a short while, the intention is only to break any physical or psychological addictions to food. This will allow you to start experiencing how good it feels to fuel your body well. By the 2nd half of the program, the “rules” are loosened a little, and healthy moderation is encouraged. After all, the intent of this program is not a short-term fix – it is meant to be the launch pad for the rest of your life! Through your example and influence, your spouse and children will also reap the rewards of this program. Role modeling is a powerful tool.

The Body Smarts nutrition program was developed by a Registered Dietitian, who is exceptionally qualified with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and 15 years of nutritional counselling experience. The fitness aspect of the program was developed by me—and with a PhD in Exercise Physiology and 20 years working in the fitness industry, I bring my own level of education and expertise. Between the two of us, rest assured that you are in qualified, experienced hands.

Body Smarts is not a diet. It is not a fad. It is a lifestyle. It is designed to give you the tools you need to achieve healthy living and proper habits. Thank you for including me on this journey. I hope you enjoy the next 12 weeks!
